Veterans who are disabled or over age 65, and who served during specified periods of war, and who were not dishonorably discharged, may be eligible for pension benefits to assist with the cost of aid and attendance that is necessary to help them with their activities of daily living even if their need for care is not related to a service-connected injury or illness.
